Está ai, nesse verso de Roberto e Erasmo, um dos maiores orgulhos da raça humana.

O orgulho macho do Sr. Detalhes.

Mais importante do que o chifre em si, amigo de infortúnio, seria a simples pronuncia do seu abençoado batismo.

Realmente um cara que zela pelo seu próprio nome na praça!

A vaidade é tão grande que o nosso personagem, um dos melhores da canção romântica brasileira, parte do pressuposto que qualquer outro rapaz, que não ele, é apenas a pessoa errada, o cavaleiro da triste figura troncha, nada mais.

Nem do outro cabeludo, que poderia aparecer na sua rua, o ciúme orgulhoso era tanto. Reza a lenda do velho Pasquim, aliás, que o cabeleira em questão teria sido o Tarso de Castro, escriba e macho de Passo Fundo, por supuesto.

Zero em modéstia e altruísmo, o Outro, o urso, o dom Ricardão de las Pontas, não passa de um coitadinho capaz de fazer a pequena lembrar do sr. dos detalhes tão pequenos.

Que cara convencido: não adianta nem tentar me esquecer, durante muito tempo em sua vida eu vou viver.

Apenas em um capítulo do conhecimento humano, a criatura esquece o pecado da soberba e reconhece que não é o pai da matéria. Sim, no caso dos erros do português ruim, naquele madrugador 1971 pós-reforma ortográfica, quando o professor Pasquale ainda em calças curtas afinava a sua singela lira.

Eu prefiro “O divã”, aquela das recordações que me matam, espécie de biografia de nós todos, esses moços, pobres moços interioranos dos Cachoeiros dos Itapemerins, das Guaratinguetás, dos Cratos, das Araraquaras, das Uberabas.

É, relembro a casa com varanda, muitas flores na janela, minha mãe lá dentro dela, me dizia num sorriso, mas na lágrima um aviso, pra que eu tivesse cuidado, na partida pro futuro, eu ainda era puro, mas num beijo disse adeus.

Professor titular da disciplina Educação Sentimental do brasileiro, cada um tem o seu Roberto preferido. Qual o seu, por acaso?

Eu só sei que vou deixar de pensar em você para prestar atenção na estrada.
